If you consider for just one moment the circumstances which led you here, we think you’d agree that you may be at some type of “Turning Point” in your life. For many this is an emotionally painful, confusing, and vulnerable time. However, with supportive guidance, direction, and counsel, we are certain that from this cross road of your life lies new “opportunities” and possibilities.

When we consider this “Turning Point” in your life, whether we use the term “client” or “patient”, whether we consider that you are involved in “counselling” or “therapy”, the underlying process is the same. We view this process as moving from an unhealthy situation toward a more healthy one. Consequently, we have discovered that most of our clientele are composed primarily of ordinary people faced with extraordinary circumstances.

At “Turning Points” Counselling Center we are sensitive to the demanding nature of the therapeutic process, which as you know requires considerable motivation, personal commitment, and a willingness to consider new ways of being, acting, and perceiving (also known as “changing!”). Therefore, it is our hope that at “Turning Points” therapy will always come first. If this is where you need to be and if you are willing to make a personal commitment to this experience, we will work with you as long as you are able to benefit from the experience.

Our fees for service are competitive and reflect our experience, expertise and professionalism. All consultation fees (including Distance Therapy or Telehealth and Supervision) are based on a 45-50 minute clinical hour. Charges for  family therapy, marital therapy, group therapy, consultations, and the initial evaluation session are adjusted according to the length of the session and the number of persons seen. If money is an issue, we will work with you in any way we can.

Unless other arrangements have been made in advance, (or an EAP/insurer is funding your treatment) payment is expected 24hrs in advance of your appointment. Medicare rebates will be processed at the conclusion of each session; and EAP/insurance funds will be invoiced on the date services are rendered. As the issue of time is important to all involved, we reserve the right to charge a “no show” or cancellation fee if sessions are not canceled or rescheduled 24 hours prior to the original appointment. For those who have made other arrangements, reasonable, regular payment will be viewed as evidence of good faith on your part. Balances over 30 days old may be subject to a 1.5% finance charge (18% APR).

By addressing these issues at the very beginning, it is our hope that this will allow us to continue on the very real issues which you feel you need to work on in order to live a more genuine and rewarding life.
